Safety Fair

The Intermediate School Student Council held Safety Week from September 23-26. As part of safety week, the PTO organized a Safety Fair. We invited North Salt Lake Police, South Metro Fire and the Utah Transit Authority to come visit. They brought vehicles for the students to see. They talked about their jobs and about safety. The fire department demonstrated how quickly they can don their turnout gear. Police let kids take turns with the sirens and even demonstrated handcuffs with one of our teachers. UTA taught the students about safety and etiquette for public transit.

We also practiced some flexibility as our emergency responders had to respond to a few calls during the event. Still, most kids got to visit with each of the visiting presenters. It was a really great morning!
