Welcome Back to School

Hello Spectrum Intermediate School Families,

It's a new year. We've got a new name, a new mission, and some great things planned for the upcoming year. We want you to be a part. Here are a few things coming up for back to school.

Back to School Night - Thursday, Aug 15
Look for our sign up table at back to school night. When you sign up, it lets us know that you want to be kept in the loop with opportunities to support our school. Of course, it's up to you to decide how involved you want to be. Just your membership and your dues go a long way.

PTO & Popsicles in the Park - Friday Aug 16

Come meet and mingle with other families at our school. We've reserved the East Pavilion at Mills Park at 1850 S 1200 W, Woods Cross. (This link will take you to a google map. http://bit.ly/popsinthepark) We'll bring the popsicles, you bring your family and some games you like to play. The park has a playground, tennis, volleyball, basketball, soccer and frisbee golf. Fun starts at 6:30 p.m.

Caughtya Store Donations
As you do your back to school shopping, please consider picking up a few fun prizes the school can use for their incentive program. A few favorites include:

• Light up rings
• Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh Cards
• Silly Putty
• Twisty Flying Discs
• Rubix Cube type toys
• Slinky's
• Lego Mini-figs (off brands ok)
• Slime

Other little items like party favors, pencils and erasers, hair clips, small toys & fidgets are also great.  We'll have collection boxes at back to school night and in the front lobby of the school during the first weeks of school. 

PTO Meeting - Sep 3

Our first general PTO meeting will be held Tuesday, Sep 3 at 9:00 a.m. in the Intermediate School library. We're excited to share what we've been planning. We'll go over our calendar and goals for the year and start planning our September events. Also, we need to vote to formally elect our officers. 

The proposed slate (who have been serving being the scenes all summer) includes:

Laura Adams & Emily Hoopes: Co-presidents
Chris Norlem: Treasurer
Britnee Norlem: Assistant Treasurer

We need to fill the positions of Vice President and Secretary. Our PTO allows co-officers. If you'd be interested in being considered for these positions, please e-mail us at spectrumtimberwolvespto@gmail.com for more information. We could also use help with fundraising, planning socials, room parents, social media, and teacher hospitality.

Volunteer Hours Opportunities
Remember that any time you volunteer with or donate to the PTO, it counts towards your mandatory volunteer hours. Our students do best when we, their parents, are involved at the school. Our mission is to help make that easy to do. Our kids will succeed when we do.
